Mint and Flowers

Hey there!

I have a new upcycle today! I’m not going to lie… its similar to a few of my other ones.

Mint and flowers

I didn’t do anything too interesting with this… my usual cut off the sleeves and take in the sides. The shirt was an XL to start with.

I adore the pattern of this shirt! Thats 100% the reason I bought it. It’s my favorite color, and the flowers look so pretty! Take a closer look:

See? Lovely.

I love this top. I’m quite pleased especially considering if I saw something like this in a store I would have bought it!

Chiffon Polka Dots

Hello!

I have a new upcycle today! It was a simple one, but I love the results!

polka dot ciffon top

I found this shirt at my favorite Cincinnati thrift store a bit ago (along with some other things you will see on here shortly!) I do believe I’ve mentioned my love for chiffon on here before… but in case you missed it, I LOVE chiffon! Well now that that’s out in the open, I’ll get on with it!

before

This top really didn’t need much. I already liked it, except for one thing: the sleeves. I hated the weird elastic part that tightened the ends of the sleeves to my arms. So, for this upcycle I simply trimmed off the said elastic part of the sleeves and hemmed it all up. I also took in the sides a tad. It was so easy. I almost feel like I’m cheating you all for not having done something more impressive… but I love this top!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Thifted Oxfords

Hey there!

Today I have a new thrifting find to share with you! I’m super pumped about this one!
oxfords

I found the most perfect oxfords and for only $4! I had been on the search for these for some time, so when I spotted this pair on the shoe rack at a Goodwill I was ecstatic. I was even more ecstatic when I tried them on and they were a perfect fit! Its too often of an occurrence where I’ll find the perfect pair of shoes only to find that they are far too small… (always too small!) I swear 99% of the people who donate shoes to Goodwill are size sixes.

I googled the brand (Xanadu) of these shoes, but I couldn’t really find anything useful. There were a few Etsy listings for some vintage shoes of the same brand so I’m thinking these most likely are vintage. I absolutely love them!

Tea For One.

Hello hello!

Today I actually have some new thrifting finds to share! It’s been awhile since I have posted about anything thrifty. About time I change that.

So, first up is a lovely corduroy jacket I got for $6. It’s originally from the Gap, and I love that the inside lining is a pretty fabric!

Next I have a mini upcycle. I was super stoked to find this 1990 Reds World Series sweater for only $1! The only problem was it was an extra large and swallowed me… It was simple enough to take in the sleeves and the sides a bit though!

My final find I have to share with you I one that I am very pleased to have found! I have begun a recent obsession with loose leaf tea. Its fantastic. (My favorite place to buy it is from here) Anyways, this find was perfect timing. It’s a ‘Tea for One’ set! The set is complete with a mug, a little teapot, and an infuser for loose leaf. I only paid $4 for this set, and I was very excited when I looked it up online and found that its $32 here!

I must say this little set gets a ton of use!

Well that is all of my current thrifting finds worth mentioning! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Floral Dress.

Hello all!

So today I have a brand new upcycle to share! I’ve had this dress for quite awhile. I got it from Goodwill back in August or so and was super enthusiastic in the beginning… unfortunately I can’t find the before pictures from way back then, but I promise you it was awful. Think something along these lines:

I just really liked the feel of the fabric and the floral print. Anyways, I immediately developed an idea of what I wanted the dress to look like and got to cutting. After awhile, the dress wasn’t really turning out how I envisioned, so I became discouraged and ultimately stashed the dress away in the bottom of my ‘to be worked on’ pile…

A few weeks ago I was going through said pile, and came across it again. I decided to give it another go with a new idea, and I must say I wasn’t disappointed this time!

I ended up turning it into a halter with a deep back. I feel its a nice and breezy dress for a hot summer day (just like the ones we’ve been having!)

Dream Catchers and Feathers.

Hello everyone!

I’ve been making a lot of necklaces lately. Just for fun. I tend to make things when I’m bored. There are three I am especially proud of that I feel the need to share with you all.

The first is a feather necklace. I’ve been rather obsessed with feathers as of late.

The second is a beaded bit. It took me some time to figure out how to put it together to achieve the results I was going for, but it was worth the effort and I’m pretty proud of it!

The last one is a dream catcher inspired piece. I had been seeing necklaces in this style around and really loved the way they looked.. so I made my own! It’s also a combination of my crochet/jewelry skills because the center of the dream catcher is crocheted!

Well that pretty much sums it up. I’m thinking of making some similar pieces for my Etsy shop. What do you think? Like them enough to buy?

New Etsy Items!

Hello All!

So as of late I’ve been pretty busy making jewelry for my Etsy Shop! I’ve added six new items! I’ve recently got my hands on a bunch of pretty feathers, so one of the items is a necklace featuring those. I loved it so much I had to make one for myself to keep, so I’m hoping you all will like it as well! I’ve also been really busy constructing wrap bracelets since they’ve become so popular. Check them out!
