Geometric Blanket

Hello, hello!

I have a new crochet project to share today! (I’m sure you notice my crochet posts become more common during the colder months!)

I was inspired to make a geometric type blanket after I saw a similar one on Pinterest.

To create this blanket, I crocheted strips of hexagons, sort of like super long granny squares, in various patterns and colors, and then connected them together.

I’m pretty pleased with this one! I now have a desire to attempt more geometric sort of designs… maybe a triangle blanket? Time will tell!

Easter Dress

Hello!

So I’m pretty excited about this one! As I’m sure you all know Easter was this past weekend. I wanted a new dress to wear to my Easter festivities, (church, lunch at my Grandma’s) so I decided that instead of buying one I would attempt to make one!

I bought a pattern a few weeks ago and had been itching to try it… I just needed the perfect fabric. I found said fabric at a vintage store downtown in Cincinnati last weekend and was so excited to use it! It was a very Easter esk pattern.

This dress is pretty easy and didn’t take long to make, yet I love the fit and simplicity! Also, the colors in the fabric go perfectly with my favorite scarf!

Happy Easter
I wore it with a bright cardigan, pink tights, and boots for Easter day.
I hope everyone had a good Easter!

Suede Shirt Upcycle

suedeupcycle

Well hello. everyone!

I have a new upcycle today! I found this (faux) suede shirt at Goodwill a bit ago. I had been playing with the idea of suede shirts ever since I saw a few at Forver 21 in the fall. I wanted one. I knew this. I just didn’t like any of the ones I found in the stores enough to purchase… so when I found this shirt, well, I figured for $3 I could pretty easily make it into something that suited me!

So anyways, here it is as I bought it:

I really love the pattern:

Basically I cut off the sleeves, (maybe a reoccurring thing for me but what can I say?) and attached a fun and colorful pattern to the existing collar. I still felt, however, that it was missing something… so I ended up painting the buttons! I feel that was just what it needed! I used an acrylic craft paint and then went over that with clear nail polish… Hey, it works!

Nifty yes? I love it.

Also, if you didn’t notice, I’ve attempted to up my photos on here a bit… I feel I’ve been kind of lazy (okay not kind of…) photo wise, so I’ve set a personal goal for myself: no more bad photos in bad lighting. It’s going to happen.
