Thifted Oxfords

Hey there!

Today I have a new thrifting find to share with you! I’m super pumped about this one!
oxfords

I found the most perfect oxfords and for only $4! I had been on the search for these for some time, so when I spotted this pair on the shoe rack at a Goodwill I was ecstatic. I was even more ecstatic when I tried them on and they were a perfect fit! Its too often of an occurrence where I’ll find the perfect pair of shoes only to find that they are far too small… (always too small!) I swear 99% of the people who donate shoes to Goodwill are size sixes.

I googled the brand (Xanadu) of these shoes, but I couldn’t really find anything useful. There were a few Etsy listings for some vintage shoes of the same brand so I’m thinking these most likely are vintage. I absolutely love them!

Clutch Upcycle: Trying out Leather Paint

Hello everyone!

So today I have a new upcycle for you! I have been intrigued by a product I heard about over the summer (probably on Pinterest called ‘leather paint.’ Well I somewhat forgot about it until I came to acquire this cute little clutch.

While it was cute as is, I couldn’t help but feel it needed a bit of a pick me up. While thinking of ideas of what I could do for this little number, I remembered the leather paint! I went into research mode right away and found some here and ordered a few different colors.

As soon as they arrived (rather quickly too!) I got to work on painting the clutch! I decided to make the main body of it a sort of shimmery champagne color, and then, to add some excitement, I painted the trim a pretty teal blue. I’m quite pleased with the results!

Now I have an itch to go to some thrift stores to find a few leather purses to spruce up!

Something Pretty.

Hello everyone,

I made something pretty. I wanted to share. :]

I had seen a few of these on Pinterest lately. I felt inspired. I crocheted the center part. I’m pretty proud of that. :]

Its been cold and rainy here in Indiana. Crocheting season has thus begun. I’m hoping I”ll soon be able to share more as I would like to move to Cincinnati in the coming months. Also, everyone have a safe Halloween!

Dream Catchers and Feathers.

Hello everyone!

I’ve been making a lot of necklaces lately. Just for fun. I tend to make things when I’m bored. There are three I am especially proud of that I feel the need to share with you all.

The first is a feather necklace. I’ve been rather obsessed with feathers as of late.

The second is a beaded bit. It took me some time to figure out how to put it together to achieve the results I was going for, but it was worth the effort and I’m pretty proud of it!

The last one is a dream catcher inspired piece. I had been seeing necklaces in this style around and really loved the way they looked.. so I made my own! It’s also a combination of my crochet/jewelry skills because the center of the dream catcher is crocheted!

Well that pretty much sums it up. I’m thinking of making some similar pieces for my Etsy shop. What do you think? Like them enough to buy?

New Etsy Items!

Hello All!

So as of late I’ve been pretty busy making jewelry for my Etsy Shop! I’ve added six new items! I’ve recently got my hands on a bunch of pretty feathers, so one of the items is a necklace featuring those. I loved it so much I had to make one for myself to keep, so I’m hoping you all will like it as well! I’ve also been really busy constructing wrap bracelets since they’ve become so popular. Check them out!

New Stuff!

Hello everyone!

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but my camera USB cable went MIA for about two weeks and I just now have found it! (it was under the sofa go figure). So anyways, I promised I would take my roommate/best friend to my favorite Cincinnati thrift stores over Christmas break, and a few days ago we finally made the trip.

I took her to Valley Thrift Store and also the Goodwill right next to it. Here are my finds for the day!

Travel Case: $2
This little number is some sort of hair straightener case. I really love the fringe it has going on and I figured it would be nice for transporting my straightener and makeup!

Wilsons Leather Jacket: $8
I know I know, another leather jacket… what can I say, I’m a collector. This one is Wilsons like my purple one and I really wanted one that was not a blazer style.

Scarf: $2
I found this cute yellow and grey scarf at Goodwill. I know I’ve also got tons of ‘decorative’ scarves, but as I said before, I’m a collector. I can’t help it. :]

Well, that sums up my most current finds. My friend also bought a teal blueish colored Wilson’s leather jacket. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. But that is all for now!

Purple Jacket

Hello!

So I have a new thrifting post for you today! My roommate and I were picking through things at Goodwill the other day and I came across this jacket. It’s Wilsons Leather and is a purple suede material. The inside is a floral print which I love, and the edges are lined with a sort of velvet material. I could go without that, but it’s not a deal breaker. Anyways, the jacket was supposed to be about $6, but was on sale for half off! When I took it to check out, the cashier even decided to count it as a blazer instead of a jacket, so I ended up getting it for a grand total of $2.50! Not bad right? :]

Sorry you can’t see it very well in the picture. I have no excuse… Well that’s about all I have to say. Make sure to check out my Etsy shop!
