Chai Latte Concentrate

So today I wanted to share with everyone one of my favorite drinks of all time…. a chai latte! An iced one of these on a summer day is one of the best things I can think of!

(love my thrifted owl figurines?) :]
To make my lattes, I typically make a batch of chai concentrate and store it in the fridge. It’s so nice to be able to throw one together in a matter of seconds in the morning!

Chai Concentrate

You will need:
-Two Black Tea Bags
-4T.Brown Sugar
-5 Cardamon Pods
-1 Cinnamon Stick
-6 Whole Cloves
-4 Whole Black Peppercorns
-1 Slice of Ginger
-1/4t. Fresh Grated Nutmeg
-2c. Water
-Honey (to taste)

Step One:
Put all ingredients (except honey) into a pot.

Step Two:
Bring to a boil. Once the chai is boiling, lower heat and allow to simmer for five minutes. Once that time is up, remove from heat and allow it to steep for five more minutes.

Step Three:
Strain the spices out of the chai and add the honey. You can adjust the amount of honey depending on how sweet you like your chai. Now all you have to do is put it in a container and keep it in the fridge! It will stay good for quite some time.

For a chai latte, mix one part chai concentrate with one part milk. You can warm it up or pour it over ice like I love! Hope you like it as much as I do!
